If you've stayed at the Planibel Apartments recently the we'd like to hear from you... If possible please let us know by replying to this thread telling us which block you stayed in and write a short review?
Many thanks,
Woody

Morning
I visited La Thuile for the first time between 4-11th January 2009 and had such a great time that we are going back again in the middle of March! Myself and the t'other half are pretty seasoned skiers and we took my mum and dad who don't ski but wanted to see the mountains in winter.
We shared a self catering apartment for 4-6 people at Planibel and despite some negative reviews on tripadvisor etc we really couldn't fault it. We had two big seperate bedrooms, each with a nice modern en-suite bathroom. The beds were pretty comfortable and the views overlooking the bottom of the slopes were fantastic. The room even had a heated storage area for ski's and boots etc. It wasn't 5* but we didn't pay for or expect 5*. It was a good 3*, and so long as you go with that expectation you certainly won't be disappointed.
The only downside was the kitchenette which literally just had 3 rings, a fridge and a sink. When we go back we'll be taking our own kettle!!!
The complex had everything you needed and although full didn't seem overly busy, however the town was within easy reach and had some lovely little restaurants.
The skiing was truly world class, with fresh dumps of powder most nights, but it did get very cold at times (not a problem but minus 30 is a little extreme!). Despite well over 2 meters of snow throughout La Thuile, La Rosiere was very disappointing with a lot of earth and grass popping through the snow!
On the next visit we'll also be making the short trips to Courmayeur and Pila (last time was so good we didn't want to leave!) for a bit more variety.
Hope that helps and thanks for the website, it was very useful for us when researching this gem of a resort.
